Submissions have closed for the 2020-21 application cycle. We'll be back this fall!
Volunteering as an editing advisor or administrator for WriteKey is a great way to give back to students in whose shoes you once found yourself. All positions come with a minimum commitment of three hours per week for three months, with the ability to work remotely. In fact, all work is entirely internet-based. After you have satisfied your three-month commitment as a volunteer, you will be eligible for a certificate and a letter of verification. Leadership opportunities are offered preferentially to volunteers who stay well past the minimum commitment. Positions are listed below. We look forward to reading your application!
We figured, before you tell us all of the wonderful things that make you right for us, we'd share our story with you. WriteKey was founded in 2017 with the goal of providing an accessible channel for all students to work towards a better chance at their dream colleges. With admissions committees increasingly emphasizing the personal statement, we realized that as college students ourselves, we can be the perfect resource for helping high school students conquer this barrier to applying. Students who turn to us respond positively to our empathy and skill as undergraduates who recently succeeded through the admissions process. Their satisfaction with our services has largely fueled the growth of WriteKey over the past three admissions cycles, with 2019's submission volume being more than double that of the prior two years combined! With this increasing demand, it is no surprise that we are constantly looking for new volunteers to share their talents.
Growth is something we welcome and always strive for, and that is why our volunteers are so crucial. No matter which position you take on, you will find that your contributions to WriteKey will reach beyond the core responsibilities of your role. A part of every volunteer's commitment is to spread the word about WriteKey in impactful ways, so that we can help as many students as possible. Be sure to put some thought into how you might promote our mission before you delve into your application.
